Discovering Creative X

I first found Creative X during my freshman year at Rutgers while wandering through the annual club fair. Initially leaning toward Computer Science, I quickly realized I craved something more creative and people-focused. That’s when I pivoted to UI/UX and found the community I didn’t know I needed.

Becoming a regular

With Rutgers lacking a dedicated UI/UX program, Creative X became my go-to space for learning and connecting with like-minded designers. I started as a regular member, attending workshops and events that helped me grow both creatively and professionally.

Stepping into leadership

I joined the board as an Events Director, organizing Figma workshops, industry talks, and social mixers, before eventually transitioning into Co-President. Now, I focus on growing the community, overseeing operations, and leading a cross-functional board to create meaningful opportunities for student designers.

Looking ahead

My focus now is on strengthening Creative X’s long-term impact by building deeper industry connections, expanding student engagement, and ensuring the club remains a key resource for future designers at Rutgers. I aim to leave behind a thriving community that continues to grow beyond my time here.
